Climate change
A highly participative sessions in which children develop their understanding of “Climate Change?”, fossil fuels, renewable energy and problems that we may face in the future.
Introduction - An introduction to the concepts of climate change and global warming, the terminology and what it might mean for our planet?
Your Carbon Footprint - Pupils can take part in an orienteering challenge, finding hidden clues that represent the areas for discussion regarding their carbon footprint, then then using a set calculation the pupils will learn how big their footprint really is
Parachute game - The whole group using a giant parachute find out about fossil fuels being a finite resource
Environmental audit of school - The pupils in small groups will be given an area of the school to review and complete an environmental audit . Pupils will develop ideas for environmental changes that can be made to help reduce the schools carbon footprint.
Future forecast - An opportunity to collect information about the weather on the day of the session and then create a forecast for the future taking climate change issues into consideration
