Lancashire Care Foundation Trust
This month we have worked with a specialist group of adults who take part in the Health in Action programme through Lancashire Care Foundation Trust. We had a great time with the group and they were very satisfied with the session too.
The Kingfisher Education team works with a range of learners from Key Stage 1 through to adult groups. The workshop for the Health in Action learners included many hands on activities to engage and stimulate discussion which resulted in the group coming up with many ways of saving water. We were also able to answer their questions about the local United Utilities Capital Works programme which they are affected by though traffic diversions etc. (A major storm overflow tank is being constructed in Lancaster and a number of 18th century artefacts have been found during the excavation process).

"Absolutely recommended" by Greenbank
Pupils from Greenbank Preparatory School in Cheadle Hulme took part in the water awareness workshop this month. Photos were taken to show parents and the local community the pupils in action during the workshop. Pupils learnt how to become water efficient and gain an understanding of why this is such an important matter. They were also taught about the dangers of entering open waters such as reservoirs. The jam packed two hours meets many elements of the National Curriculum including Science, Geography and English.
Greenbank Preparatory School's Assistant Headteacher Heather Burnett said during an interview: “As winners of this year's Independent Schools' Association’s National Eco School Award, everyone at Greenbank is particularly keen to educate our children on vital matters of conservation…”
Bookings now being taken for FREE water workshops in the 2017-18 academic year
Sponsored by United Utilities, we offer a FREE half day water awareness workshop aimed at primary school pupils.
A fun, stimulating hands on session for all, linking directly with the National Curriculum.
