Water Awareness

The half day workshop is supported by United Utilities and is FREE of charge to schools within the North West region. Bookings are now being taken for 2018. Places are limited and book up quickly, contact us to book your session.

About the workshop

Explore the world of water and where it comes from. Pupils test their knowledge of the water cycle, calculate how much water they use, take part in a 'Think before you flush' experiment (toilet paper versus wipes) and have the option to audit water use in the building.

Pupils will also discover ways to save water, find out what lurks below in the sewers, look at how water is used in developing countries, discuss the important issue of water safety and lots more... Pupils receive water booklets for follow up work and United Utilities gifts to remind them about saving water.

Who it is for

The Water Awareness workshop is ideally suited for Years 4 and 5, but easily is adapted for all other year groups. The workshop fits in with many learning outcomes of the National Curriculum including Science, Geography, Maths and English. Download the Water Awareness National Curriculum links for more details.

This workshop is also available for other year groups including Reception (meet Drippy the Droplet), Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 (props and fancy dress, water cycle style) and for SEN pupils. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
